Concert diary on Instagram

Encouraged by a fellow metalhead and journalist friend, I started a new Instagram account in late August 2023 soley dedicated to my concert travel and love of music.

After a press event at the German Embassy in Tokyo a few weeks ago, a journalist friend said to me: „You obviously put in so much time and effort into writing your concert posts – you should really have more followers. Why don’t you start a separate Instagram account?“ I was surprised. „Why would anyone who does not know me want to read that??“ He said: „You know what metalheads are like.“

He had a point there. And so after a lot of deliberation about how to combine the fact that I have attended gigs across four continents so far – most of them in Asia and Europe – with my passion for music in general and rock and metal in particular, I have started testing to see how and account like this could work, and what kind of content people are interested in.
