Documentary World Premiere:
KREATOR – Hate & Hope

Anyone who went to school in Germany in the 1980s or 1990s will remember seeing KREATOR T-shirts everywhere on their classmates. Since then, the band has been revered by thrash metal fans around the world – including in Japan. At KREATOR’s concerts in Tokyo, for example, one young woman even had the band’s name shaved into her undercut hairstyle. Other fans arrived equipped with handmade flags and posters for the KREATOR shows during the co-headlining tour with In Flames in January and February 2024.

Accompanying the band on location at the venues, on the Shinkansen from Osaka to Tokyo, and in metal bars for filming was a very different kind of assignment from my usual work as a line producer. Hopefully, it will not be the last opportunity of this kind. Until now, most of my projects in Japan have been documentary films about classical music.

On July 2, 2025, the Munich Film Festival will present the documentary film KREATOR – Hate & Hope by director Cordula Kablitz-Post. Band leader Mille Petrozza will also be in attendance. The film is scheduled for theatrical release in late summer.
