„Tuna – The Threatened Hunter“ – Official Selection at Green Screen 2024

The GREEN SCREEN International Nature Film Festival will take place in Eckernförde, Germany, from 11 to 15 September 2024. In addition to many thousands of festivalgoers, over 200 filmmakers and producers from all over the world are expected to attend. The 45-minute science documentary „Tuna – The Threatened Hunter“ (original title: „Thunfisch – Der bedrohte Jäger“) by author and director Claudia Ruby, on which I worked as a line producer in Japan, has been included in the official festival program.

In the summer of 2023, we spent almost three weeks shooting it in Japan alone, and the preparations took one year. Shortly before filming, a typhoon almost prevented us from shooting a central element of the film – the hatching of baby tuna from the egg. But we were lucky. After an all-nighter, we had some impressive images in the can.
